CAP CONNECTIONS
Community Alliance For The People, rooted in the heart of Saginaw, MI, stands proudly as a homegrown nonprofit driven by the strength, spirit, and resilience of 48601. As natives of this community, we understand its struggles and its strengths—and we’re here to uplift, empower, and invest in the people who call it home.
Built from the people, for the people, our mission is to create lasting change through unity, opportunity, and grassroots action. We are committed to environmental justice, fighting for clean air, safe water, and healthy neighborhoods for every resident. Through education and advocacy, we work to ensure our youth and families have access to the knowledge and resources they need to thrive.

Environmental Justice
At CAP, we're teaming up with local and statewide partners to make sure Saginaw’s voice is heard when it comes to environmental issues. We focus especially on the needs of the Black community because clean water and air should be a right for everyone, not just a privilege. We’re pushing for changes that protect our neighborhoods and ensure everyone can breathe easy and drink safely!
Civic Engagement
We believe that everyone should have a say in what happens in their community! CAP is all about getting folks involved in local politics and decision-making. We organize workshops, discussions, and events to help residents understand how to vote, advocate for themselves, and make their voices heard. When we all participate, our community gets stronger!
Criminal Justice Reform
At CAP, we’re dedicated to changing the way our justice system works, especially for marginalized communities. We’re working to address issues like over-policing, unfair sentencing, and the need for more support for those affected by crime. Our goal is to ensure everyone gets treated fairly and has access to the resources they need to rebuild their lives.
Education
We know education is key to unlocking opportunities! CAP focuses on ensuring that all kids in Saginaw have access to quality education and the resources they need to succeed. Whether it’s advocating for better schools, after-school programs, or scholarship opportunities, we’re here to make sure every student can thrive and achieve their dreams.
